Meet Our Execs
McGill Students For FIMRC - Executive Team 2014-2015
YuJin Kang
President
Hi everyone! My name is Yujin, and this is my last year of BSc. Psychology at McGill. I am very excited to serve my second and final year as the President of McGill Students for FIMRC.
I have been devoted to McGill Students for FIMRC since its establishment, and I have seen it grow over the years (it has been my baby…!). I am proud of everything we have accomplished together as a group, and I want to bring more fun events and opportunities to our members this year and leave a strong foundation for the next year’s executives.
From our local volunteering program to global health volunteer program, there are many ways for everyone to get involved in our organization. My time at McGill Students for FIMRC has been a tremendously valuable experience, and I hope our current and future members will have as amazing an experience as I did!
Katrina Li
VP InteRNAl
Hello! My name is Katrina and I currently completing a major in U1 Anatomy and Cell Biology and a minor in East Asian Cultural studies. I really like snow (but not blizzards) but there is not much back home in Vancouver.
I also enjoy reading in my spare time and travelling to various landmarks around Montreal when I have the opportunity.
If you are interested in joining FIMRC and our team, do not hesitate to approach me and ask!
Cheers!

VP Finance

VP Communications
My name is Jocelyn, and I’m from Vancouver—but as a true Vancouverite, I pronounce it as Vangcouver.
I’m a Pharmacology student and also your FIMRC VP Communications. You’ll be hearing from me via regular listservs where I’ll provide information about upcoming events, volunteering opportunities and the like. My days are spent class-, library-, and lab-hopping. In my spare time, I like to paint (traditional Chinese painting, anyone? No? Alright, I get it…it’s a dying art form. Now go Google it), improvise on the piano, and—wait, who am I kidding. I don’t have spare time.
I hope to pursue a career in the medical field, while being able to do research and teach on the side.
If you want to learn more about FIMRC or talk about how much you loathe -35 degrees Celsius days, come say hi at one of our events!
Derek Liu
VP PRomotions
Hey! I'm Derek, a U2 Anatomy and Cell Biology student at McGill. Growing up, I was never one to know exactly what my passions were. Eventually, by some stroke of luck, I ended up working with children of all ages through aquatics and healthcare and realized I had never smiled bigger. My passion hit me without warning.
Helping and supporting children is one of the greatest feelings in the world and FIMRC is an incredible organization that is doing just that in under-priviledged areas. We hope to give the specific care that children and their mothers need and we hope you'll support us along the way!

As FIMRC McGill’s Missions coordinator, I organize and facilitate the volunteer trips to FIMRC’s 8 locations around the world. I am here to make organizing and planning trips easier for you! There will lots of events and fundraising activities planned throughout the year to make the trips more accessible to everyone!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me, I look forward to getting to know you all!

Emilie Bruneau
VP External
Hello everyone! My name is Emilie and I’m a U3 Honours Student in Microbiology and Immunology. I am currently the VP External on our great team and I’m in charge of the Community Involvement Committee (CIC).
I am originally from Ottawa and I am perfectly bilingual (so if you ever want to practice French, you know who to contact). I am an ogre when it comes to food and a bear when it comes to sleep (literally, I can hibernate for hours). I love a good game of Catan and being the occasional bookworm.
I also enjoy meeting new people and learning about others’ background. I have gone up to strangers to introduce myself more than once and in all honesty, some of them are now among my best friends at McGill. So like I tend to say, don’t be shy.
Remember: Eat, Travel & Smile. FIMRC has many great events coming up and if you are interested in being an active member, you can definitely contact me! The CIC will be organizing a Winter Clothe Drive, a Panel Discussion and fundraising events to supply water filters for El Salvador.

Director of Community Service
Hello there! My name is Jielin, a U1 student in Pharmacology. I’m currently the Director of Community Service and I coordinate regular group volunteering activities around Montreal for our members.
Before coming to Montreal, I lived in St. Catharines, a city in Ontario close to the majestic Niagara Falls. I’ve also lived in Switzerland and was born in China, and having moved around so much, I came to love learning about other cultures, and languages (currently attempting to learn Spanish and German, as well as to improve my French).
I’m also on a mission to explore all that Montreal has to offer, especially food-wise, so don’t hesitate to pop me a message if you want any restaurant recommendations or know of a great place to try out! Of course, I would also be ecstatic to hear of your interest in our group volunteering program!
